The Town Movie review

Based on Chuch Hogan's novel Prince of thieves, Ben Affleck Directs, co writes and stars in this American Crime Drama.  Ben Affleck plays Doug McRay who with his three friends James "Jem" Coughlin (Jeremy Renner), Albert "Gloansy" Magloan (Slaine), and Desmond "Dez" Elden (Owen Burke), do robberies for "Fergie" Colm (the late Pete Postlethwaite) a local florist at Charlstown. On the first robbery at the beginning of the film they rob a bank and take the bank manager Claire Keesey (Rebecca Hall) hostage.  Doug after the robbery keeps an eye on Claire to see if she remembers anything that could identify the four and becomes attached to her against "Jem's" wishes.  Hence a similar trend of movies where Doug wants out but Fergie wont allow it.  The bank robberies in the film are nicely done and the costume they chose like the nuns in the poster takes you back to point break and the ex presidents. The tension between Doug and Jem with the later being a loose cannon and is willing to do anything to stay out of jail is obvious from the start where its Jem's decision to take Claire hostage against the others wishes.  The FBI agent always one step behind but trying to pin something on the four is Adam Frawley (Jon Hamm).  The film is nicely paced and the acting by Affleck and Renner is top notch.  From start to finish you don't know how this film is gonna turn out.
