"Role Models" review

"Danny and Wheeler were just sentenced to 150 hours mentoring kids.  Worst idea ever" reads the tag line for the movie.  Thinking Sean William Scott and Paul Rudd would be a dream combination.  Paul plays Danny Donahue a pro-motor for energy drink "Minotaur" with Sean playing Anson Wheeler who dresses up in a minotaur costume while Danny promotes the drink.  From school to school they go telling kids to not do drugs and instead drink "Minotaur".  Something they cant believe in themselves judging by the colour of there piss.  Danny hates his job and has a complete negative look on life while Anson loves his job and his life.  Danny's negativity rubs up the long way Girlfriend Beth Jones (Elizabeth Banks) and it leads to the there relationship coming to an end.  Things go bad to worse when they truck is about to be towed away by traffic cops.  Attempting to drive of while still clamped ends up the guys escaping prison by way of community service at child mentoring firm Sturdy Wings.  The ever popular Jane Lynch plays the founder and boss of Sturdy Wings Gayle Sweeney.  Gayle hooks Danny up with August "Augie" Farcques (played by rising star Christopher Mintz-Plasse) a geek who lives and breathes medieval live action role playing games.  Wheeler gets partnered up with Ronnie Shields (Bobb'e J. Thompson) a foul mouthed little git who's mentors have never lasted more than one day.  Every scene Ronnie is in is a joy to watch. Especially the one where Wheeler shows him how cool "Kiss" are and how there songs are sexual innuendos like "Love Gun."  Danny's relationship with Augie isn't quite so simple to find a common interest.  So Danny decides to join in Augie's role playing game "Laire".  All goes well until Augie slays the king Argotron (the hangovers Ken Jeong) but the king denies this.  Danny defending Augie pushes the king in anger and gets them both banned from "Laire".  And when Danny insults Augie's parents for not supporting his hobbies the pair fall out.  Also Wheeler leaves Ronnie alone at a party while getting some action which leads to the collapse of them too.  Cue Danny and Wheeler then falling out and it looks like the pair may be heading to jail after all.  Danny tries to mend bridges and begs King Argoton to let Augie play in the huge Battle Royale tournament.  After getting the kings approval Danny breaks the good news to Augie only to be told he needs 4 people to form a country.  Hence mending bridges with Wheeler and then Ronnie to form a country dressed up as the four members of kiss.  Cue an enjoyable look into the world of role playing live action gaming which leads Augie to slay the King only to be fooled and slayed himself by Sarah a friend who was believed to already be out of the game.  Film finishes off with Danny wooing ex girlfriend Beth with the song "Beth" by kiss leading to there reconcile. Role models was a joy to watch and shows everything Paul Rudd touches at the moment is cinematic gold.  The soundtrack is great too.  If you haven't seen role models already then get your self down to your high-street and buy it.  Cause you wont be watching it only once.
