Top Ten Characters in Movies
In no Particular order
1/ Mickey O'Neil from Snatch. Bradd Pitt is brilliant as Mickey in Guy Ritchie's Snatch. The fact that he took a pay cut and wanted a part in Ritchie's movie just shows how great Pitt is. Memorable quote - "What do i want a fucking caravan for without wheels" (in pyky tone)
2/ Captain Jack Sparrow from the pirates of the Caribbean series. Johnny Depps Jack Sparrow is the greatest part of all 3 movies. He based it on the rolling stones Keith Richards. Memorable quote - "Hide the Rum".
3 Frank The Tank from Old School. Lovable Frank is played by Will Ferral. Would love to have a drink with this dude. Memorable quote "Were going streaking".
4/Staff Sergeant Sean Dignam from the departed. This guy is a mean git but is great to watch and can be ice cold when he needs to be. Memorable quote "What's the matter, smart ass, you don't know any fuckin' Shakespeare?".
5/ Randal Graves from Clerks. If you ever see this guy behind the counter just remember he don't wanna help you. Randal hates his job and is so enjoyable watching him rip into customers. Memorable quote - "My mom's been fuckin' a dead guy for 30 years. I call him dad."
6/ Randy from scream. Movie geek that thinks hes in a horror movie and that the rules still apply to life. So good they even cave him a cameo in Scream 3 even though killed off in Scream 2. Memorable quote - "Breasts? Not until "Trading Places" in 1983. Jamie Lee was always a virgin in horror movies. She didn't show her tits 'til she went legits."
7/ Tyler Durden from Fightclub. He really is what you wanna be and he probably does fuck like you wanna fuck. Tyler is one cool legend. Memorable Quotes "All right, if the applicant is young, tell him he's too young. Old, too old. Fat, too fat. If the applicant then waits for three days without food, shelter, or encouragement he may then enter and begin his training."
8/ Forrest Gump from Forrest Gump. Sad loser Forrest who's niceness gets repaid in how successful he ends up. Memorable quotes - "My momma always said, "Life was like a box of chocolates. You never know what you're gonna get."
9/ Mr Pink in reservoir dogs. The only dog to survive. How cool is this guy. Memorable quote - "I'm very sorry the government taxes their tips, that's fucked up. That ain't my fault. It would seem to me that waitresses are one of the many groups the government fucks in the ass on a regular basis. Look, if you ask me to sign something that says the government shouldn't do that, I'll sign it, put it to a vote, I'll vote for it, but what I won't do is play ball. And as for this non-college bullshit I got two words for that: learn to fuckin' type, 'cause if you're expecting me to help out with the rent you're in for a big fuckin' surprise."
10/ Sean Connery as James Bond. There is only one Bond. Period! Memorable quote - Names Bond James Bond.
"Role Models" review
"Danny and Wheeler were just sentenced to 150 hours mentoring kids. Worst idea ever" reads the tag line for the movie. Thinking Sean William Scott and Paul Rudd would be a dream combination. Paul plays Danny Donahue a pro-motor for energy drink "Minotaur" with Sean playing Anson Wheeler who dresses up in a minotaur costume while Danny promotes the drink. From school to school they go telling kids to not do drugs and instead drink "Minotaur". Something they cant believe in themselves judging by the colour of there piss. Danny hates his job and has a complete negative look on life while Anson loves his job and his life. Danny's negativity rubs up the long way Girlfriend Beth Jones (Elizabeth Banks) and it leads to the there relationship coming to an end. Things go bad to worse when they truck is about to be towed away by traffic cops. Attempting to drive of while still clamped ends up the guys escaping prison by way of community service at child mentoring firm Sturdy Wings. The ever popular Jane Lynch plays the founder and boss of Sturdy Wings Gayle Sweeney. Gayle hooks Danny up with August "Augie" Farcques (played by rising star Christopher Mintz-Plasse) a geek who lives and breathes medieval live action role playing games. Wheeler gets partnered up with Ronnie Shields (Bobb'e J. Thompson) a foul mouthed little git who's mentors have never lasted more than one day. Every scene Ronnie is in is a joy to watch. Especially the one where Wheeler shows him how cool "Kiss" are and how there songs are sexual innuendos like "Love Gun." Danny's relationship with Augie isn't quite so simple to find a common interest. So Danny decides to join in Augie's role playing game "Laire". All goes well until Augie slays the king Argotron (the hangovers Ken Jeong) but the king denies this. Danny defending Augie pushes the king in anger and gets them both banned from "Laire". And when Danny insults Augie's parents for not supporting his hobbies the pair fall out. Also Wheeler leaves Ronnie alone at a party while getting some action which leads to the collapse of them too. Cue Danny and Wheeler then falling out and it looks like the pair may be heading to jail after all. Danny tries to mend bridges and begs King Argoton to let Augie play in the huge Battle Royale tournament. After getting the kings approval Danny breaks the good news to Augie only to be told he needs 4 people to form a country. Hence mending bridges with Wheeler and then Ronnie to form a country dressed up as the four members of kiss. Cue an enjoyable look into the world of role playing live action gaming which leads Augie to slay the King only to be fooled and slayed himself by Sarah a friend who was believed to already be out of the game. Film finishes off with Danny wooing ex girlfriend Beth with the song "Beth" by kiss leading to there reconcile. Role models was a joy to watch and shows everything Paul Rudd touches at the moment is cinematic gold. The soundtrack is great too. If you haven't seen role models already then get your self down to your high-street and buy it. Cause you wont be watching it only once.
"I Hope they serve Beer in Hell" Review
With the tag line "Based on a true story.......Unfortunately" this film really is special. I stumbled upon this knowing my favourite UFC fighter Forrest Griffin has a cameo in it. Matt Czuchry plays Tucker Max. A dude who loves himself and sees women as playthings and if they have a disability that just proves a challenge for him. As the opening scene where he is shagging a death girl and all the noises shes making prompts the police to arrive. I was hooked already. The story centers around Tuckers best friend Dan (Geoff Stults) who is to be married and Tucker wants to show him a good stag do (bachelor party for the American readers). Tucker wants to take Dan to a strip joint that he claims to have been to before much against Dans fiance Kristy's(Keri Lynn Pratt) wishes. Dragged along for the ride is there shattered heart friend Drew(Jesse Bradford). Spiteful to all women after he caught his last girlfriend shagging some rapper. As they set off on the rode trip the film is going at a good pace and Drews interactions with the girls in the second bar is hilariously funny. As they get in the strip joint Drew offends one stripper after another and it looks like spoiling Tuckers and Dans night until they meet Lara ( Marika Dominczyk) who gives as good as she gets and starts to put Drew in his place. Chaos soon follows and ends up with Tucker being banned from Dans wedding not by Kristy but by Dan himself. Tucker sets out on his own and after a horrible time with some spiked laxative drink he finally understands his selfishness. The film was so funny and the characters seemed like people i can relate to. I recommend you give this a watch as Tucker gives American Pie's Stiffler a run for his money in the male ho category.
'Get Him to the Greek' review
Now i went into this movie not being a huge fan of Russell Brand but do like Johnah Hill's rise to stardom so i had to give his new film a watch. Directed, produced and written by Nicholas Stoller who had a huge hit with "Forgetting Sarah Marshall" brings back Brands character of Aldous Snow. Aldous is a has been rocker now but is the target of Aaron Green (Johnah Hill) to get him back to the "Greek" for a 10 year anniversary where he first played. Aaron is also struggling to spend time with his nurse girlfriend who wants to move to Seattle. Not sure about Brands acting as he just seems to play himself. A drug addict, sex magnet and just never seems a stretch for him to act rather than being his normal self. Johnah does great at trying to please all of Aldous requests to get him to the concert on time including a bit of "wamb bam thank you man" in a toilet cubicle and being asked to hide his drugs somewhere rather uncomfortable. At short of 2 hours the film does seem to drag in spots and i seemed to not care if they ever did get to the "Greek" or not. The star turn of the film has to go to P Diddys character Sergio Roma. Sergio is Aarons boss who assigns him to accompany Aldous to get him to the Greek on time. Sergio steels every scene he is in and is hilarious in his T1000 chase through a hotel and the streets. The soundtrack is ace though with London Calling and Anarchy in the uk to name but a few hits which does help the watchability of the film. And do hate to say it but Brands singing isn't so bad and if "African Child(trapped in me)" was released as a single I would probably buy it. Get him to the Greek is an easy watch with moments of being hilarious. Just feel was a little long as what should have been a race against time and a fast paced comedy its a little slow.
